GoRocky takes its revolutionary healthcare model into the world of women’s health

GoRocky was founded around men's health and chronic care. Now, it has acquired the Kindred brand and related assets from Kindred Health, Inc., pushing the three-year-old startup into women's health.

Deal to benefit tens of thousands of Filipino men and women

The deal, announced in July, brings together two digital health providers that have separately served close to 100,000 Filipinos. It is structured as an asset acquisition rather than a full buyout: GoRocky now operates the Kindred brand, its patient base, portions of its staff, and its flagship clinic in Serendra Mall in Bonifacio Global City. Meanwhile, Kindred Health, Inc. remains a separate legal entity responsible for its existing obligations. Certain medical equipment, including ultrasound machines, was excluded from the transaction.

Founded in 2022 by nurse and femtech pioneer Jessica de Mesa-Lim, Kindred is widely credited as the country's first hybrid women's health clinic, offering consultations, diagnostics, vaccines, ultrasounds, birth control, and specialized programs that tackle women’s health issues such as infertility, menopause, and certain infectious diseases, both through its clinics and an online platform.

GoRocky, launched in 2023, has spent the past three years connecting patients to licensed doctors and partner pharmacies, initially for sexual health and hair loss - conditions men have historically preferred to live with rather than discuss with a physician - and then weight management.

GoRocky noted that women already make up more than 60 percent of its patients under the weight management category, and further expanding into women’s health and turning the GoRocky brand into more than just a platform primarily for men’s health makes sense.

"Our first priority is to serve existing patients better: 24/7 support, an expanded doctor network, and more treatment options as determined by our doctors while ensuring continuity of care throughout the transition," said GoRocky CEO Kiyanusch Braun.

"From there, we will grow care across Kindred's flagship clinic in BGC and online to millions of patients to come, adding services for menopause, metabolic health, mental health, and sexual health."

GoRocky is backed by Kaya Founders, Integra Partners, and Pulse 63 Healthcare Ventures.
